After serving in the Navy for twenty years, I retired as a Navy Nurse in the mid 1990s and took up painting while searching for another adventure. Now more than a decade later and after seven years as a co-owner of Art on the Avenue, a fine art gallery, I'm happily moving forward to a new chapter.  While still proudly associated with my former gallery,  I'm excited about other opportunities which have come my way.    “Life loves to surprise us” a friend once said and I’m still in wonder about the unexpected career path my life took when I took up the brush.   It can’t get much better than this!   One of my favorite inspirational quotes is by Goethe who said, “Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it".
